REAL STORIES

We have featured below a selection of beautiful weddings that took place at High House in 2023. Our couples wedding days are unique to them and we love seeing their ideas come to life. From their heartwarming ceremonies to the vibrant parties, you can get inspired for your wedding day at High House right here.

April - Lucy and Shoshi

Lucy and Shoshi had a vibrant designations wedding in Bangladesh. They continued their celebrations here at High House for their UK wedding blessing on a sunny day in late April.  The décor chosen by Lucy and Shoshi was beautifully considered with neutral hessian, exquisite white lace and accent pops of colour in the glassware with lavish wildflower bouquets as each table as a centre piece.

They enjoyed a wonderful atmosphere in the stable courtyard area after their ceremony with canapés, a delicious rum punch and fantastic music by Scintillo, the String Quartet. Lucy, Shoshi and their guests enjoyed an extensive BBQ menu followed by speeches and a party never to be forgotten.

‘‘Everything ran perfectly and looked and felt amazing.. everything was exactly as we had envisioned, super helpful staff on the day and with the planning and lead up we felt completely looked after every step of the way to run the day as we wanted.. absolutely stunning in every way!’’

May - Kay Dee and Andy

After being together for over 14 years and living in California, Kay Dee and Andy chose High House as the venue for their wedding in May 2023. Having booked via a virtual call, they did not see the venue in person until 1 month prior to their special day. Despite being so far away whilst planning, with help from the High House team their plans came together wonderfully to create the most beautiful day.

The couple chose to marry in our beautiful barn as they just loved its style. The reception featured an extensive menu, expertly crafted by Valentine Cuisine, which left guests raving about the delicious canapés, mouthwatering choice main courses, and delectable trio of desserts. A great party was had by all in the evening making it truly a day to remember.

June - Rebecca and Jake

It was here at High House that Rebecca and Jake celebrated their wedding day on the first day of June.

There was a classic elegant design to Rebecca and Jake’s wedding day which was timeless and sophisticated. Simply Stunning Flowers provided hurricane vases and floating candles surrounded by truly beautiful white flowers and foliage for this gorgeous wedding.

The day of Rebecca and Jake's wedding was filled with excitement from beginning to end, featuring the benefits of our celebration drinks package, as well as the addition of singing waiters from Dramatic Events.

The couple decided to cut their wedding cake prior to doing the first dance which then started the party they always wanted to celebrate their wedding day.

‘‘What a day!! What an amazing venue!! From start to finish the team at High House were fantastic! We were assigned Abbie as our wedding co-ordinator and she went above and beyond to ensure our wedding day was absolutely perfect - we couldn’t have asked for anything more. All of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was and what an amazing team High House have! We couldn’t recommend High House enough! Thank you for making our wedding day so special.’’

July - Isabel and Nicole

Isabel and Nicole’s wedding day was full of fun and laughter from start to finish. They married in our Essex Barn and were graced with beautiful sunshine all day.

Simply Stunning flowers supplied delicate jars placed upon traditional Portuguese style tiles as table décor which looked beautiful in our marquee. They also decided not to opt for a traditional wedding cake and had Pastel de Natas, which is a traditional Portuguese dessert was a lovely nod to Isabel’s Portuguese heritage.

Following a delicious 3 course meal from Valentine Cuisine, Isabel and Nicole enjoyed some time in our Vineyard for photos before returning to the marquee for the magical dancefloor reveal. They had the most amazing evening dancing alongside their guests and family and even managed to squeeze in some stunning night shots on the bridge.

‘‘What a beautiful venue to host our wedding, being a family business you really notice the care that goes into every detail and the beautiful grounds. Every member of staff is amazing and super helpful and kind. We couldn’t have had a better day. Everything went perfectly. We will be forever grateful to the whole High House Team and a big thanks to Ella for managing the day and making it go so smoothly. We love you all!’’

August - Sophie and Tim

Sophie and Tim chose to have their beautiful August wedding day here at High House. They had the vision of elegant and sophisticated and that is certainly what they achieved with beautiful centrepieces from Samantha May Floristry and delicious cake from PinkFace.

Tim made his grand entrance in a Rolls Royce, whilst Sophie and her closest friends got ready in our Bridal Dressing Room. It was clear to see by the reaction of Sophie walking down the aisle, how much love they share with their family and friends.

The party atmosphere started during the Wedding Breakfast where guests were dancing around the room whilst Chelsey Johnson sang for them and after a small break during speeches, this vibe carried on well into the evening. All of Sophie and Tim’s guests thoroughly enjoyed the evening sharing Sophie and Tim’s special day.

‘‘Was blown away by the venue from the first viewing. We immediately knew it was the venue for our wedding. The coordinators were extremely helpful from the very start, all the way through to making sure everything ran perfectly for us on the day. We are very grateful and so happy we chose High House. We had the best wedding day ever!’’

September - Amy and Tom

Amy and Tom held their blessing here with us at High House in September conducted by the wonderful Nichola Collinson. Surrounded by only their closest family members, they chose to have an intimate ceremony and Wedding Breakfast followed by a party with their extended family and friends.

Daisy May florist supplied elegant vases with single stems in them which worked perfectly with the bespoke table layout that our lovely couple had chosen. Opting for a U-shaped table meant that Amy and Tom’s guests could enjoy the beautiful Afternoon Tea option that Valentines catered for their Wedding Breakfast in the perfect sociable environment. The party atmosphere started once their evening guests arrived and carried on well into the evening. Naomi Barker, their incredible photographer, took them for a few evening shots which allowed Amy and Tom to reflect on the beautiful day they had so carefully planned and then join their guests on the dancefloor to party the night away.

October - Jordan and Reece

Our final wedding of 2023 was one filled with lots of smiles and laughter throughout the day. Our incredible Bride and Groom wanted a day that was full of fun and their plans certainly reflected that.

The Mother of the Bride made all of their beautiful centrepieces and the Bride carefully chose a selection of board games to go alongside these to break the ice on the tables. They opted for a BBQ with Valentine Cuisine and added a few bespoke items to their menu to ensure they put their spin on the all important Wedding Breakfast.

Making the most of an earlier sunset, John from Pure Image took Jordan and Reece out into the grounds to capture the most stunning evening photos, before returning into the marquee once the sun had set for the all important first dance reveal. The party continued into the evening with our resident DJ ensuring the dancefloor was full all night so that Jordan and Reece, alongside their family and friends could party the night away.

‘‘We cannot thank High House House enough for our beautiful wedding. The whole team were incredible, and our guests couldn’t have been more complimentary. The venue is gorgeous, and the day ran so smoothly. Valentine Cuisine were brilliant and catered for everyone, and John from Pure Image went above and beyond. I would recommend anybody looking to get married to book High House. Thank you all again.’’
