Sophia and Robert - 2nd July 2018

Sophia and Robert chose to have their wedding blessing here at High House with all of their friends and family after an intimate wedding ceremony abroad. The weather was wonderful and their close friend conducted the ceremony here outside at our thatched gazebo.

Sophia and Robert both work and reside in Vietnam so their day was particularly special as they had the chance to see friends and family members they had not seen in some time.

Sophia and Robert had a very relaxed and fun day full of laughter. Their decoration included Lego inspired centre pieces and a donut tower instead of a traditional wedding cake.

Kelly and Billy - 17th August 2018

Kelly and Billy picked High House as the setting of their beautiful August wedding. This day was packed with fun from start to finish. Kelly and Billy were both relaxed and happy from the word go and it really showed.

They chose to hold the ceremony in the barn due to its beautiful, rustic vibe and then continued into the courtyard for drinks and canapes.

The marquee set up was exactly as they had envisioned, and the sun shone through onto their guests. We opened the bifold doors and let the outdoors in opening the whole venue up and really showing off that countryside style that they had fallen in love with.

Katie and Ian - 13th September 2018

Katie and Ian chose to have their wedding here at High House in September. They had an intimate ceremony surrounded by their closest friends and family.

Katie surprised Ian with a cake she’d had made with a beautifully detailed image of a map tucked away at the back. This thoughtful touch matched the gentle theme of their wedding as Ian had a map designed onto the back of his waistcoat and different globes filled the tables alongside flowers and little ‘duckys’ to represent different countries.

Everyone had a wonderful day and Katie and Ian could not have been happier celebrating their love.

Katie and Harry - 20th October 2018

Katie and Harry married at High House in our barn for the last wedding of the year, Saturday 20th October 2018. Katie and Harry were concerned that it may be a little chilly at this time of year but the weather was absolutely stunning and guests enjoyed walking around the grounds through the day and evening.

Their talented friend sang during their reception drinks which was a lovely touch to their day.

The bouquets and table centre pieces supplied by Samantha May Floristry matched the colours of the glorious autumn day perfectly.

Katie’s family have 4 VW campervans, these were brought into the grounds for photos which added a lovely personal touch to the day.

Katie and Harry wanted to have fun on their wedding day and they really did. They ended the 2018 wedding season on a high with a big party with all of their friends and family… everyone was up and dancing from the moment the dancefloor was revealed.

You may notice that a drone was used as part of the videography. At High House we have very strict regulations on when a drone can be used which this company were able to adhere to. Any drone usage must be discussed and approved by High House ahead of a wedding day.

Roberta and Ben - 29th May 2016

Bank Holiday Sunday in May 2016 was the date that Roberta and Ben chose to get married here at High House after their Christmas engagement. Preparing for their wedding in just 5 months, Roberta was an incredibly organised bride and the results were stunning!

There were lots of special touches added to their wedding day such as a string quartet playing during the ceremony in the barn and reception drinks (Liquid Strings),  aerial filming of their day (Seon Braithwaite), stunning floral displays in the marquee (Samantha May Floristry) and a magician in the evening to entertain guests before the party got started.

Photography was by Matt Wing and videography by one of our brilliant recommended videographers, Philip Smith Visuals.

Theirs was a truly fun wedding for guests from the moment they arrived until they left at the end of the evening.

Here is the beautiful film of their wedding day which captures just what a wonderful day it was:

Kylie and Trevor - 11th June 2016

Kylie and Trevor married at Mayland church and had their reception at High House, although Kylie chose to get ready at High House in the Bridal Dressing Room so was here from the beginning of the day.

Sailing is their joint passion so their wedding day was very much themed around this, making every touch very personal to them. We particularly loved their nautical table plan and cake with deck chairs on top!

Wanting a relaxed theme for their day, they chose to serve a BBQ for their wedding breakfast and they also had a cocktail hour as their evening guests arrived. Strawberry daiquiris and mojitos were served to guests by our bar team at the gazebo so that guests could enjoy the grounds at the same time as their drinks. It was a great way to start the evening party!

Their very cute cake was by Adelie Bakes, LOVE letters by the Prop Boutique and photography by Rebecca at Wild Rose Photography.

Lavinia and Tim - 23rd July 2016

Lavinia and Tim's wedding took place on a simply stunning Summer's day in July. Lavinia and her bridesmaids could therefore relax using all of the outdoor space at the Bridal Dressing area, getting some wonderful pictures by the pool before the ceremony took place.

Being such a beautiful day, their ceremony at the thatched gazebo was picture perfect, with all of the wonderful High House flowers in bloom - as captured by one of our wonderful recommended photographers, Emma at Bloomwood Photography.

A relaxed and fun day for everyone followed the ceremony, with guests able to enjoy the outside space for the entire day into the evening. A wonderful day for a lovely couple!

Steph and Lewis - 19th August 2016

A garden tea party was the theme for Steph and Lewis' gorgeous August wedding. A huge amount of effort was put in by Steph and Lewis to bring this theme to High House, and the results were wonderful.

A venue stylist, Alice from Fleur De Lace, was hired to bring some unique décor into the venue both inside and out to really make the day their own. Samantha May Floristry (one of our brilliant recommended florists) worked with Steph to create some beautiful floral displays in tea pots and cups as centre pieces.

Having planned on an outdoor wedding, due to the weather not behaving as needed, the ceremony was moved to the barn. However, the barn comes alive in rainy weather with the fairy lights twinkling and as you can see, the photographer and videographer were able to get some wonderful shots. Weather does not dampen a wedding day at High House!

An afternoon tea menu created by Steph and Lewis was served to guests for the wedding breakfast, with Valentine Cuisine providing some simply amazing food which guests will remember for a long time to come.

A beautiful wedding throughout with photography by Scott Miller and film by Boutique Wedding Films.

A stunning film by Boutique Wedding Films shows Steph and Lewis' beautiful day in full:

Tszkwan and Ben - 25th September 2016

It was a stunning September High House wedding when Tszkwan and Ben married here.

As red is the traditional lucky colour in Chinese culture, there were wonderful red lanterns dotted around the venue and Tszkwan changed from her beautiful white wedding dress in the day, to a stunning red gown in the evening.

As can be seen in the pictures below, there were wonderful flowers by Samantha May Floristry and a beautiful cake by Iced Gem Cakes. Evening entertainment was provided by our DJ Harvey as well as an evening singer. A very fun evening was had by all and we think that Scott Miller who took the pictures captures the day and evening perfectly.

Zoe and Jamie - 3rd October 2016

Zoe and Jamie booked their wedding at High House with only a few months to go until their big day. The details that formed their wedding day were amazing! Zoe had a super organised and creative mum to help in the preparations and set up on the morning of their wedding, and the venue did look truly beautiful with the finishing touches that they brought in.

Some of our favourite things were the wheelbarrow with seeds for guests to take home at the entrance of the venue, the amazing cake display and wonderful wooden bench that had been made for guests to sign which would later be varnished so it can be kept as a keepsake forever.

The beautiful photography by Camilla J Hards shows the details of their day perfectly. Kimberley from Simply Bows and Chair Covers (who we recommend highly) added the beautiful bows to the chairs and Samantha May Floristry again worked her magic providing some stunning table arrangements and bouquets.

A truly unique and beautiful High House wedding.
